Congstar X Home Router - No Internet

Hello

Yesterday, suddenly the homespot router for my Congstar X, stopped working. The 'Network' light is constantly blinking green. And when I login into the router, for the network status I can see 'disconnected' and only 2G is available.

I restarted the router couple of times and even reset the router and cleaned and re-inserted the SIM into the router, but nothing has worked. I checked, I still have data volume left for this month.

And I have to resort to using my phone as hotspot. Since I work from home it is really problematic. Can you please look into it and suggest a resolution as soon as possible.

are you at the usage address with the router? Or are you using it at your home address?

Thanks for your reply. As per me both addresses are the same.

After my message, I took the router SIM and inserted it in an old phone and I could access the internet through that. That's how I'm actually using the internet right now through the phone hotspot. And I also tried using my phone SIM in the router but I think since it is PIN protected the router was not able to auto-authenticate it.

Hey @atinjain ,

you can find the PIN/PUK in the "mycongstar" customer center under "mydata". You can then enter the PIN in the router interface and also deactivate it, so you will no longer be asked for the PIN.

Incidentally, your home address and the usage location specified here are different. The Homespot only works at the usage location, since it is location-based....

So the router was working until yesterday morning without issue and suddenly it stopped working. It seems like that the router has malfunctioned. Because the SIM works otherwise in a phone.

So how can I replace the router?

Hey @atinjain ,

please make sure that you really use the router SIM and not the mobile SIM-Card. At what address are you using your connection right now? if it really is the registered address for the Homespot, the problem is here, not with the router - even if the card works in the cell phone for some reason. Which SIM are you using right now? . give me the corresponding SIM-Card-Number (it's a long number on the SIM-Card). just put it in your personal details under contract-number here in the forum. if you want to change the address, so that the router-SIM can be used at your "at home" address, just let me know. this costs 20€ one-time and is done in a few hours.

I'm using the Router-SIM for the router. I have updated the address and the SIM in my personal data for the Forum.

Let me know the further steps, so that we can resolve the issue quickly. It has been two days now that I can use the internet without difficulty. Also, if the address is the problem then please change the address as well.

Hey again,

it is really important for us to know where you are now with the router or where you want to use the router. Are you at the address with the zip code 79110 or at the one with the zip code 79100?

The router SIM card only works at the address of use, the mobile SIM card you can use anywhere.

Hey @atinjain,

so the address with the zip code 79110 is the address for the customer account, but not for the Router-SIM card. The Router-SIM card can only be used at the other address with the zip code 79100. If you want to change the address of the Router-SIM card, then you can contact us here:

i changed the address for your router SIM. Please restart your device in 1-2 hours, it should work by then. (sometimes it can take up to 12 hours).
